Searching for the perfect kitchen
The first introduction to ASWA Keukens began via social media. “After viewing the website and reading positive customer reviews, the atmosphere of ASWA immediately felt right.” Because they had to travel quite far, it was decided to discuss everything in one single appointment. This turned out to be a good choice: plenty of time was taken to talk through wishes and possibilities. Advisor Julia immediately understood what was needed and guided them through the entire process.
The kitchen: the heart of the home
The process from idea to dream kitchen went smoothly and was well organised, exactly as desired. The kitchen was fully designed with a calm base, with colour added through accessories such as vases, jugs, bowls and cookbooks. Although the kitchen itself looks sleek and minimalist, this approach creates a lively and personal atmosphere.
The design phase started with inspiration from Pinterest. Using these images, a clear vision was created and further developed together with ASWA. The central point of the kitchen needed to be a large kitchen island, ideal as the heart of the home. The high ceilings of the house inspired the choice for tall cabinets along the wall, allowing the space to be used to its full potential.
When choosing materials and colours, the starting point was clear: natural elements and a light, matte look. In the end, the choice fell on light coloured cabinets combined with a practical and stylish ceramic worktop. This material is not only beautiful, but also easy to maintain, which is ideal in a household with children. For contrast and warmth, wooden upper cabinets and black details were added, such as the tap, sink and refrigerator handles.
And then the kitchen appliances
When choosing the kitchen appliances, there were a few specific wishes. One of these was the addition of a steam oven, a convenient choice for cooking vegetables, so that everything is ready at the same time. This made cooking more efficient and easier. In addition, there was a wish for a cooktop with an integrated extraction system. Because the cooktop is placed in the kitchen island, an extractor hood above the cooktop would not fit the sleek, open design of the kitchen. The integrated extraction system in the cooktop ensures a clean and tidy look, without compromising on functionality.
The favourite spot in the kitchen
The kitchen island is without a doubt the favourite spot in the kitchen. It functions as the central point of the home, where the whole family often comes together. Whether it is for cosy conversations, doing crafts with the children, browsing through cookbooks or getting some work done, the island is the perfect place. Even while cooking, the island is a pleasant and sociable spot to stay connected with each other. The kitchen island makes the kitchen not only functional, but also an inviting space for the family.
