A stylish SieMatic SLX in the Zalmtoren penthouse in Rotterdam
SieMatic SLX
A kitchen with a view of the skyline
ASWA Keukens created this SieMatic SLX kitchen on the 49th floor of De Zalmhaven. The apartment overlooks the Rotterdam skyline, but inside, it’s all about tranquility. Soft color tones, carefully selected materials, and a clear layout create an interior that feels serene. The kitchen is centrally located in the living area and is used for cooking, dining, and spending time together, without taking away from the view.
Refinement down to the last detail
The kitchen features a SieMatic SLX in Umbra satin. The integrated Golden Bronze handle strip adds a refined touch to the kitchen while also providing subtle ambient lighting. The Jetstone ceramic countertop and the backsplash in Ambrato Satin complement the calm color scheme of the interior perfectly.
The spacious cooking island offers plenty of workspace and, together with the parallel layout, creates a practical configuration. The integrated coffee corner, Siemens wine cooler, multifunctional oven, induction cooktop, and Quooker Flex Black round out the kitchen.
Calm through color and material
Throughout the penthouse, a subdued color palette was chosen, in which warm shades of gray, natural wood textures, and bronze accents complement one another. The kitchen is fully in keeping with this aesthetic. The tone-on-tone material choices give the design a calm appearance, while the varying textures add depth and character. The bronze pivot door and the carefully selected lighting also contribute to the interior’s refined look.
The View as Part of the Home
The large windows not only let in plenty of natural light but also offer a different view of Rotterdam from every room. From the kitchen, you can look out over the city while cooking; at the dining table, the view changes throughout the day; and from the balcony, the entire skyline unfolds before you. As a result, the view is always a part of the experience, without the interior losing its serene character.
